Courses on AstrologyI teach astrology in a variety of formats to everyone from absolute beginners to advanced professionals. I really believe that learning astrology is a thousand times more beneficial and helpful than just having an astrologer read for you. Even if you don't "have what it takes" to become a master, if you just apply yourself sincerely you will come away from this subject enlightened on so many important topics. My unique method of understanding the elementary principles is essential for being able to succeed with the intermediate and advanced techniques later on. So please do not overlook the elementary courses. Click a course number to get more information about the course. At the end of the course list are frequently asked questions about how my classes work.

Questions About Classes
What is the class format? We can conduct the classes in any of the following formats, whichever you prefer. There is no difference in the tuition.
What is the class schedule?I do one-on-one classes, so we determine the class schedule on a per-student basis. Classes in the "email correspondence" format are the easiest, because they really don't require any formal schedule. The other formats require mutually available times and dates - which can sometimes be tricky since I live in an unusual time zone (Japan). We determine a schedule after you enroll in a chat, audio, or video format course. What class material do we get to keep? Each course has written study material. For email correspondence classes, this material is the initial core of the class, explored through questions answers and discussions. All class formats get and keep excellent study material for each class. You can easily store and record email classes, as well as text chat format classes. It is also possible to record Skype audio and video on your end, if you wish the classes to be conducted in that medium. At what level should I begin? I am not a newcomer.A famous piano teacher offered lessons for $10 to beginners and $20 to experienced players. When asked why, she said, "I have to work hard to correct everything the experienced players think they know." I mention this with a sense of humor. Still, if you can start at the beginning (101) with the attitude of having a totally clean slate you will learn everything most soundly and surely. I admit, though, that not everyone has the patience and money to do this. So I welcome you to start wherever you want to start. But be aware that if you go straight into a higher numbered course we might have to spend time addressing preliminary topics when the need becomes evident. Thus you may not be able to fully avail yourself of a higher numbered course if you jump straight into it. My general advice is to start at square one, but you are welcome take the classes you feel you are ready for. I trust you. And you have to trust me. At my discretion I might modify the classes you enroll in to account for missing or conflicting preliminaries. What classes do you reccomend, in what order? If you want to learn classical astrology: I reccomend taking the theory courses first, in this order 101 (fate), 102 (planets), 103 (signs), 104 (houses). Then moving into the application courses in this order: 201 (planets in signs), 202 (planets in houses), 203 (lords), 210 (aspects, conjunctions, dispositors, etc.). To crown it off you could next do a course like 150 (how to practice and give readings), 204 (unified interpretations), 311 (answering questions), etc. If you want to learn the very ancient stuff, the really Vedic stuff: Start with 101 (fate) and 102 (planets) as background, then go to 150 (vedic fundamentals), then 250 (vedic practice) when it becomes available. Do you offer certification or something similar? No. Proof is in the pudding. If you can read a horoscope accurately and beneficially, that's the diploma. If you have a better understanding of yourself and the world after taking my classes, that's the diploma. Can I become a master astrologer by taking your classes? That's entirely up to you. No teacher can give more than the student can absorb. But if you apply yourself and work at it you can become extremely proficient and competent by taking several of my courses. Even if you take only one you will radically increase your understanding of not just astrology but of how the world works. Do I need a "guru" to learn astrology? It depends on how you define "guru." the literal definition is "heavy" which means a source that is full of the thing you seek. In this sense, yes of course you need guru to learn astrology, but that is no different from the need for guru to learn anything and everything. In every endeavor to gain something we don't have we must seek it from a source that has it. What is the ultimate spiritual benefit of astrology? If a spiritualist is already perfect there is no fruit in studying astrology or doing anything besides constantly dancing, singing and discussing the All-Attractive Divine Beloved. The vast majority of spiritualists, however, are not perfect. We are human beings on the path towards perfection. Therefore the benefit of astrology for a spiritualist is quite similar to the benefit of astrology for any human being. The benefit of studying astrology is that you will have a direct vision of the Hand of God. You attain this vision by understanding the clockwork within the mystical operation of the universe, and how the unfolding of time, measured by the motion of universal bodies such as planets, generates the conditions to fulfill the fates acquired by living beings as a result of accountability for their freewill. The more deeply one comprehends astrology, in theory and practice, the more vividly this vision of divine clockwork appears within the trees and clouds and cars and dogs and people of humdrum daily life. Eventually this vision intensifies into direct perception of the Hand of Godhead. It is a form of Godhead called “kAla” in Sanskrit: Fateful Divine Time. Thereafter the spiritualist is left to use this vision as a catalyst for whatever particular spiritual proclivity or aspiration he or she may have. A karmi, for example uses this vision to perfect the selflessness in their dutiful responsibilities. A jnani uses it to better see the world through philosophical and objective eyes. A yogi uses it to better control the energies and powers in the world and the mind. A bhakta uses it to more deeply fall in love with the All-Attractive. Since there is a gradation of perfection in selflessness among the above which culminates in the bhakta – the selfless lover of the Divine, we can therefore conclude that the ultimate spiritual benefit of studying astrology is Divine Love, although it is by no means assured that astrology will lead to this pinnacle. It can support it. |
